Brooka Photographic | Brooka Prints - Vancouver Abstract Photography

Brooke McAllister is a North Vancouver photographer who creates abstract imagery in camera. Offering more than a literal interpretation, an abstract conveys a unique experience of place, allowing the viewer to see something new in the familiar. Texture, colour and pattern dominate the photographic narrative and create an even deeper appreciation for our Pacific Northwest playground.  Just like looking at a Christmas tree while crossing your eyes, the magic of the scene flickers to the surface when viewed from a non traditional perspective.

#gettyinspired Getty Museum | Los Angeles

I took a recent trip to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles to see the stunning architecture designed by Richard Meier. I loved walking around the grounds and taking in not only the peaceful, modern surroundings but also the incredible birds eye view of LA. I had a special interest in seeing their current exhibit of Sally Mann’s prints. Her work was incredibly moving especially when viewed in large print. Her motivations and artistic voice are incredibly inspiring, highly recommend! The Getty is a great deal, pay to park ($15) and then you get free admittance to the gallery. Get there early, there was a long line to get into the parking lot by the time we left at 2pm. The Getty is only about an hour and half drive from Ojai and close to LAX so you can easily plan a visit upon arrival or departure into the City of Angels.
